Piešťany City Library, Regional Library of Ľudovít Štúr in Zvolen and civic association BONA FIDE in Prague are hosting another Festival of Slovak and Czech Children's Books. It will take place for the third time in Piešťany, Zvolen and Prague from October 11 to November 10, 2017. The festival will feature both Czech and Slovak children's literature, while children will have a chance to attend numerous artist-led workshops, a puppet theatre performance as well as exhibitions of book illustrations.
The festival will guide the youngest generation through the topic of familiarity and interconnectedness of Czechs and Slovaks, and of the closeness between the two languages and nations interwoven through common history, culture and traditions. The festival received support from various Czech and Slovak cultural personalities, among which are writer Jiří Stránsky, actresses Ivana Chýlková and Zuzana Kronerová or director Ján Sebechlebský.

Miriam Pešková: Little Belly, Who Is It That Lives Inside of You? (orig. Bruško bruško kto v tebe býva?)
Author Miriam Pešková carefully introduces children to each developmental stage of the human fetus. Funny little poems can enhance the pleasant expectations of the miracle, when a new little human arrives into the world. The CD is aimed at children aged 3 and higher, but it will certainly make the parents happy, too. It is a great tool that can help them explain to their curious children, when a baby's hair starts to sprout or when its hearing or sense of touch starts to develop...
The contents of this CD were consulted with experts in the field of gynecology and obstetrics, so that each chapter accurately reflects the given stage of the baby's development.
The presentation of the bilingual CD will involve the creators and authors of the project.
Location: Slovak Institute in Prague, Hybernská 2
