Zden Hlinka
Zden Hlinka moves freely between a software developer and digital visual artist. Since the beginning of his career, Since the beginning of his career, he has been using custom code as a tool to create computer animations closely linked in musical accompaniment. His roots go back to the demo scene, an independent subculture of creators who produce audio-visual works in the form of programs that create real-time animation.
In the 2000s, he began to focus more on creating live video projections for public events, for which he began a long-term evolution on his VJ software, which he still uses today.
He uses his own video footage of natural and industrial themes, the contrast of which fascinates him. Recently he has become enthusiastic about analogue photography again, which has been developed into experiments with other forgotten technologies such as VHS, Super 8, or experiments with analogue video mixers and other VJ software on 8-bit platforms.
His visual expression is usually multi-layered and dense, where he creates an environment open to interpretation by the observer. He does not like to stay in one position and therefore, he tends to constantly experiment with visual means and combine different approaches from deconstructivism to geometric minimalism, exploring the aesthetics of error (glitch), combining it with photographs or 8-bit style.
He has also experimented with other media such as the web (net.art), or created visual puzzles, which were popular in the crypto community. For the last few years, he has been primarily involved in commercial development of original video effects into motion graphics tools, which he then uses himself to create video clips.
