Mária Ferenčuhová Reflects on Her Attendance at the Literature & Wein Festival in Austria

The Literatur & Wein Festival in Krems, Austria has a long tradition of inventing special ways of bringing international authors and their works to the local audience. As Mária reflects, she "very much enjoyed the concept of a joint presentation of writers and winemakers."

Mária Ferenčuhová's poems were translated into German by Mirko Kraetsch.

But she also feels it important to stress the personal side of the Versopolis events: „We Versopolis poets were able to share and enjoy as if a world of our own. It was to a large degree thanks to perfect servis and care that Wolfgang and other festival crew provided us with. Moreover, Mária greatly appreciated the fact she was able to meet four different Versopolis poets, namely: Krystyna Dabrowska, Katja Perat, Vladimir Martinovski, and Vytautas Stankus. Thanks to the trilingual poetry booklets (featuring poet's works in their original language, in English, and in German), that the festival prepared for all of the five Versopolis guest authors, Maria was able to find out that she was accompanied by highly inspirational and insightful people as well as quality poets. "New friendships were born thanks to Versopolis, it was delightful", Mária sums up her time at Poetry and Wein Festival in Krems.
