The Centre for Information on Literature is publishing a book of interviews with Slovak book publishers. It introduces eight personalities responsible for the publishing of high quality books of original Slovak work. "There are many books inside of this one. About eight thousand. The credit primarily goes to their authors, but secondarily (and my no means less importantly) to the ones who, so to speak, helped the books into the world – the publishers. We know quite a bit about the books' authors. We know considerably less about their publishers," said Ján Štrasser, the book's author.
Ján Štrasser – The Persistent Eight Interviews and memoirs
Book as a medium, artifact or goods, but predominantly a carrier of cultural values – all these aspects need to be taken into account by publishers before offering the book to the reader. How do publishers influence our current culture? How does literature shape them? These and more questions are answered by Ján Štrasser in his seventeenth book of interviews with eight Slovak publishers: Koloman Kertész Bagala (KK Bagala), Juraj Heger (Slovart Publishing House), Peter Chalupa (Petrus), Albert Marenčin Jr. (Marenčin PT), Peter Milčák (Modrý Peter), Vladimír Michal (Artforum), Oleg Pastier (F. R. & G.) and László Szigeti (Kalligram).
