Krystyna Dąbrowska

Krystyna Dąbrowska (born in 1979) is a Polish poet, essayist, and translator. She is the author of five poetry books, most recently Miasto z indu (City of Indium, 2022). The recipient of the Wisława Szymborska Award, the Kościelski Award, and the Literary Award of the Capital City of Warsaw, she has had her poems translated into twenty languages. They have appeared, among others, in Harper’s Magazine, Poetry, Threepenny Review, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Akzente, Sinn und Form, Manuskripte, Revista Crátera. Book-length collections of her poems have been published in Italian, German, Swedish, Portuguese, and English (Tideline, Zephyr Press, 2022 – nominated for the Walcott Poetry Prize and the National Translation Award in Poetry). She won a 2024 Pushcart Prize for Travel Agency, a poem translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones. Krystyna Dąbrowska’s translations include the poetry of W. C. Williams, Thom Gunn, Charles Simic, Kim Moore, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, and Louise Glück. In 2022 she participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. She lives and works in Warsaw.
